Final Response

Final Response
Write a literature response to The Revealers showing how and when you used the reading strategies of reflecting, predicting, questioning, summarizing , and visualizing in your reading of the novel. Include page numbers for examples from the text. Refer to your Daybook if you need a review of the strategies.

Prediction-In the story I tried predicting after I was done reading each chapter.Even by reading the chapters name I tried predicting .It actually helped me as I could remember the parts that made my prediction right or wrong .The predictions were usually like "I think now they are going to figure out a solution, they are going to be in trouble or I do not think they are actually going to succeed doing it."

Questioning -The questions where usually flying around the head waiting for the time to get the answer. When I got the answers it was a relief .The the questions were like "Why did he do that? What does this sentence mean?"The one question I am always thinking is"Why did not Russell put up his story in the kidnet?"I am really eager to find the answer. If you can find a answer it makes the story interesting.

Summarizing-In the Revealers the main point was "the middle school students publishing their stories in the kidnet about their bully incidents." 'The good thing about summarizing is that you can always keep a track of the story.it even helped me as when I was stating them in my own words I felt the story was really easy .It gave me ideas what the story is talking about while I was reading.

Visualizing-The visualizing part is the most fun part.We can make the characters in our own way by using the descriptions from the book .I visualized"Catalina's long legs" and even the picture when "Elliot was dropped of the bridge"(page58).

Reflecting-Reflecting helps me remember all the main ideas of the book.It gives me an idea what the characters are like in the story. When I was reflecting I made sure if my reflection was right or wrong as I think that if I make the reflection once wrong than the whole concept of the book will be changed to me.

perspective of Catalina

Perspectives
Envision yourself as Russell, Elliot, or Catlina. Describe how you would feel and react to the bullies in the story.
Perspective of Catalina
If I was Catalina I would try to ignore Bethany and even try to get some good advice from someone like the people who are older than me. Eventhough catalina was not so close to her mom but still she could take advice from Russell's mom.If Bethany came disturbing me everyday then I would fight up to her.I will be scared but I need to think about the pros. I think that will help me fight back.I would never post something to the middle school without knowing whom is it from .Like in page144 , Catalina posts a unknown story about Bethany. If nothing works out than I will probably will make myself leave the school somehow .And I will try to make a group of people who will actually support me and will help me prove Bethany wrong.

revealers - keeping quite

Blog response/peer comment instructions:

§ Answer the questions in complete sentences and use proper English (restrain from using MSN chat style of writing).

§ Use evidence from the novel to support your answer and include page numbers.

§ When commenting to your peers, be respectful in your language and about their responses. It is okay to disagree, but do it in a polite manner

Novel connection. When Richie punches Russell in the face, his mother wants to call the principal, however, Russell wants to keep quiet about the whole incident. Russell’s mom’s response was, “I’m not doing nothing. If one adult did this to another, he be in jail. Why should it be different for kids?” (p. 45)

Blog Question: Should kids solve their own problems or should adults/parents get involved? Explain.

Answers:
I think kids should share there problems with parents because parents give good advices as they already has an experiance. The mom advised Russel to"go and ask Richie "[page 41].that actually worked out for Richie.Moms do tell you things for our own good and we should listen to that. They try to make sure everything works out for us.Moms have some points that help us out.If you tell them your plans you created to solve the problem they might be telling you I do not think or I think that was a good thing you did like in page 77 the mom said that it was a pretty good idea to put student's problem in the Kidnet and to publish it to everyone.
